Human Leukocyte Antigen (HLA) genes are the most polymorphic in the human population. Precise determination of a donor and/or recipient’s HLA type is essential to obtain optimal clinical outcomes in multiple settings, such as hematopoietic progenitor cell transplantation, immune-mediated platelet transfusion refractoriness, and some adoptive immunotherapy approaches. This program will provide an expert review of molecular methods for HLA typing, including underlying principles, advantages and disadvantages, and common pitfalls and challenges, such as the resolution of typing ambiguities.
This program will be carried out entirely in the Spanish language.
